Why learn the art of infant massage?
Be prepared for your new arrival by giving yourself a proven method of soothing, nurturing and bonding! Babies who are massaged gain more weight, sleep better, have stronger immune systems and reduce gas and colic. Since massage can begin immediately following birth, you will be ready to start bonding right in the hospital!
Our classes are taught by a Registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist/Certified Infant Massage Instructor who is an expert in helping you anticipate what those early massages will be like and how to adapt your techniques according to your baby's needs.
Class topics include:
- The origin, history and proven benefits of infant massage
- Choosing the best time to massage your baby
- Instruction on massaging all parts of the body
- Learning how to respond to your baby's cues
- How to adapt your massage if your baby is premature
- Introducing new techniques as your baby gets older
Location: Infant Massage is offered as an at home Private and Semi-Private class. You are welcome to register with up to 4 friends.
Registration: You may register one of 2 ways. Call Simply Motherhood at 516-522-0337 or register online- See Below. When registering please provide your due date and the type of class requested. If you are choosing the Join with Friends option, you must include their names. Each person must register seperately. Once your registration is submitted and processed, you will receive an email confirmation. We will contact you within 48 hours to schedule your class.
