We provide high-level education, accurate information, guidance and support that will nurture and empower you. Michelle Turner, RN, MA, C-PNP, IBCLC
Founder and Director
Michelle is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (C-PNP) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1992 from Long Island University and her Masters in Advanced Nursing for Infants, Children and Adolescents and Clinical Nurse Specialist from NYU. She has been a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 1998. She is a Fellow of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), a member of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA), the Long Island Lactation Consultant Association (LILCA), and the Long Island Doula Association (LIDA) and has lectured at Mount Sinai Medical Center on lactation topics.
Michelle has previously worked in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Dept. of Pediatric Gastroenterolgy, as a primary care provider at Family Health Associates, and most recently in two prominent pediatric offices in Long Island. She founded her private practice, North Shore Lactation, in 2007.
Living in Melville with her husband of 10 years, Michelle is the proud mother of three fantastic girls, including twins. She is in a unique position to understand the challenges women face trying to breastfeed and care for a new baby (babies) in the midst of normal day chaos, returning to work and trying to parent each child individually. She brings a high level of patience, understanding and compassion to each woman's situation.
Lisamarie Curley, CIMI, OTR/L
Pediatric Occupational Therapist/Certified Infant Massage Instructor
Lisamarie is a graduate from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. She received her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2001, and has since provided treatment for children in the school, clinic, and home-based settings. Lisamarie has studied child development through various continuing education courses and specializes in therapeutic massage, play therapy, sensory concerns and handwriting difficulties.
Lisamarie received her certification for Infant Massage in 2006 through The International Loving Touch Foundation. She has provided infant massage instruction to both new and experienced mothers and fathers on an individual and group basis. In April of 2008, she had the pleasure of teaching underprivileged teenage mothers infant massage at an educational retreat sponsored by SNAP Long Island. In July of 2008, she spoke about the benefits of infant massage at Viacord’s Ultimate Baby Shower. Lisamarie has also instructed the art of infant massage during prenatal education seminars. She is also a member of the Long Island Doula Association.
Lisamarie is a proud mother of two children; both have enjoyed the benefits of infant massage. She found her training and techniques particularly helpful in creating a bond between her children, as she taught her older child the art of massage (at two years of age!) in anticipation of their new arrival.
Danielle Joseph-McKay, LCCE
Lamaze Childbirth Educator
Danielle is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and Labor Support Doula for the past eight years. Danielle is also a La Leche League Leader, one of the founding members of Long Island Doula Association (LIDA), a current member of the LIDA Council, serving as Hospitality Administrator, and a founding member of Doula Network of Long Island (DNLI).

Danielle lives in Farmingdale with her husband and two children, both of whom were born naturally with minimal intervention and are breastfed. She, herself, understands what it means to have a medication-free birth and knows that it is attainable, even in a hospital setting. She believes strongly in supporting breastfeeding mothers knowing firsthand how challenging the first weeks can be.
Donna Coogan, RYT 500, ARCB 
Yoga Instructor and Reflexologist
Donna is a 500-hour RYT through Yoga Alliance, she has been a Senior ISHTA teacher since 1999 and studies under Yogiraj Alan Finger in New York City. Donna received her certification as a Reflexologist in 1995 through the American Reflexology Certification Board and uses the principles of reflexology to bring the body into a state of balance. She has taught group classes at Yoga Zone, Be Yoga, Yoga Works and ISHTA Yoga in New York City and currently at the Suffolk Y JCC in Commack. For the past 10 years, she has provided prefessional one-on-one sessions to select clientele in New York City and now for the last 4 years here on Long Island. Donna's special focus is teaching women at all stages of their lives- before pregnancy, during pregnancy, after pregnancy and with children.
